If you are looking for a place where historic architecture meets a modern approach to create something entirely timeless, you need not look far. Villa Volman is a Czech functionalist pearl, whose spaces have recently been proudly adorned with Lejaan bedding.

Villa Volman

Vast forests, a nearby stretch of water that mirrors the sky and romantic silence that absorbs everything around it. The roots of the majestic Villa Volman and its impressive estate reach back to the First Czechoslovak Republic, when avant-garde architects Karel Janů and Jiří Štursa gave it its form, following the model of Le Corbusier. You will find the residence a few kilometres east of Prague, in the town of Čelákovice.

The Villa Volman is dominated by brick red, a colour our Grandma's House collection is proud to share.

Beauty interwoven with function

The exceptional nature of the building is underlined by its timeless design, which elegantly combines the contrast of traditional stone masonry with polished surfaces and sharp lines. At Lejaan too, timelessness is one of the most important values, constantly pushing us to find new solutions and take our products to a higher level.

Villa Volman is connected to the surrounding nature by projecting terraces reminiscent of a captain's bridge.

An unexpected partnership

Recently, Lejaan became part of Villa Volman too. The curator and chairwoman of the Villa Volman association, Zuzana Kadlečková, spoke about the blossoming of the collaboration: "Behind Villa Volman is a story of exceptional architecture; behind Lejaan is a story of an exceptional approach. We met at the summer Sleeping Under the Stars event, where we made up beds on the terrace together for guests. It was supposed to be a one-off collaboration, but the bedding, pillows and duvets impressed us so much that we decided to dress the whole apartment in Lejaan."

The Villa Volman features chrome details, marble accents and exotic wood.

Paths that met entirely naturally will now create something completely new together - something shared, sophisticated. Something that will leave an unforgettable experience in the hearts of Villa Volman's visitors. "I want guests to leave feeling thrilled, rested and cared for," adds Zuzana.

"Behind Villa Volman is a story of exceptional architecture; behind Lejaan is a story of an exceptional approach."

Lejaan first-hand

What does this collaboration mean for the villa's visitors? "Guests staying in the Slečna Ludi apartment will wake up in Lejaan duvets and their bright white Daily Notes bedding. We furnished it with carefully selected and sensitively restored furniture by legends of Czech functionalist design, such as Jindřich Halabala and Robert Slezák," Zuzana shares with a smile.

When we asked what charmed her about Lejaan bedding, she was clear: "It is so soft, it really makes you feel like you're on a cloud."

The versatile bright white Daily Notes bedding is adorned with a delicate stripe detail.

A breathtaking experience

We spent a day doing a playful photo shoot at Villa Volman and in its minimalist spaces. The results are woven throughout this text, and you can see the rest below.
