Do you have any HOME rituals?

With two children, I vowed not to spend my quiet evening hours cleaning (especially dishes). So my daily ritual is to clean the kitchen before breakfast. I feel like I start the day with a “clean slate” and I function much better in a tidy space. And I also can't function without a made bed.

HOME SMELLS LIKE...

Like a walnut cake, freshly ground coffee. And in the summer, like sunscreen, which I always apply to the children.

What is your favorite place in the apartment?

I recently joked on Instagram that it's the bathroom. It's quiet there for at least a few minutes a day. But otherwise it's probably the children's room and our living room, which is a kind of secondary children's room.

A hypothetical and unwanted scenario, but... If there was a fire, what three things would you save?

Photos, a coffee maker and a computer. I am a practical woman.

DO YOU HAVE ANY favorite home accessories?

I admit that I don't really care for accessories, I don't like "dust collectors", but I love the Qubus vase and the Pond mirror from Ferm Living.

AND WHAT IS YOUR LEJAAN FAVORITE?

Bedding Flat White! I feel like I'm lying on a cloud every night.

HOW DID YOU ADAPT THE APARTMENT TO CHILDREN?

We chose a sofa in a darker color, which we didn't want.

WHERE DO YOU LIKE TO PLAY WITH YOUR CHILDREN THE MOST?

We alternate between the living room and the bedroom, even though we have toys in every corner of our apartment. We also often play hide and seek around the apartment.

DO YOUR CHILDREN SLEEP IN LEJAAN?

Yes, older Žofinka loves her Rebeca's Dream bedding.

WHAT AESTHETICS ATTRACT YOU?

In recent years, I have come to realize that I love minimalism mixed with aesthetic products for children or their creations. I enjoy having distinctive Stapelstein balance elements, wooden animal figurines or a cool children's mat in the living room. Our apartment belongs to all of us and I don't want to limit the children's space to just their room. We also plan to frame some of our older daughter's paintings.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE YOUR DREAM LEJAAN PRODUCT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Bedspread Woven Monocolour. It looks beautiful draped over the bed, but it can also be used for snuggling up in front of the TV.

WHAT SHOULD EVERYONE HAVE AT HOME?

A quality pillow, comfortable bedding and coffee beans.

DO YOU HAVE ANY INTERIOR RULES THAT YOU FOLLOW?

Unfortunately not now, all the rules are constantly broken here and no one respects my principles. (laughs)

WHERE DO YOU LOOK FOR INSPIRATION FOR YOUR INTERIOR?

On Instagram. It's the fastest source of inspiration.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE HOME ACCESSORY?

Having an island with bar stools – our whole world revolves around this space. We eat here, work here, cook here, chat with friends. Then I'm also grateful for the round corner of our bench in the hallway. It's safe for the kids and aesthetically pleasing for us.

CAN YOU GIVE US THREE TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE EVERY SPACE COZY?

A throw over the sofa, an interior fragrance and flowers. Cut and roomy.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD IN BED?

That's not allowed with our Flat White bedding!

WHO LAST VISITED YOU AND WHAT DID YOU PREPARE FOR THEM?

We most often welcome my friends with children to our place, so they are plates full of fruit and vegetables, sweet and savory pancakes and other snacks.
