Ambitious, innovative, pushing the boundaries of the usual - that is how the architecture studio Perspektiv describes its projects. The studio is currently expanding into public space and development projects, so for the private residential side of its work it has created a new studio, arkhe, which designs unique homes from the shell to the very last detail. Join us for a look behind the scenes of their impressive work. We present two beautiful projects we had the chance to contribute to.
AN APARTMENT IN THE HEART OF BRATISLAVA
"The client expected the new home to become a base from which they and their family could set off all over the world," is how the studio describes the family apartment in the heart of the Slovak capital. The result is a generous space that reflects the client's cosmopolitan lifestyle and combines historicist elements with modern design.

The living room is airy and timeless.
"We furnished the apartment using the Design&Build method, which is essentially a turnkey form of delivery," explained Kristýna Boková, marketing manager at Perspektiv & arkhe. Thanks to this, the architects oversaw every stage of the project and the whole renovation process ran much more smoothly.
Precise work and the choice of quality materials are reflected in the overall impression of the space. The interior is dominated by richly textured surfaces such as solid wood, coffered panelling and an exotic stone from Brazil, which takes centre stage in the kitchen and the entire entrance area.

The striking Brazilian quartz and a soft colour palette form a deliberate contrast.
The comfort of living in the apartment is enhanced by modern technology. One of the clever details is the motorised curtains in the bedroom, which can be drawn with a simple wave of the hand. Smart lighting, in turn, easily creates whatever atmosphere the client prefers at the moment.

Coffered panelling throughout the apartment gives the space a cohesive feel.
The chosen materials and well-thought-out details provide a timeless foundation for accessories, to which studio Perspektiv attaches enormous importance. "Even during the photo shoot, we try to play with the styling so the apartment feels welcoming and lived-in. We are not fans of sterile interiors. At the final handover, we always give the client a gift, whether it is a design vase or Lejaan bedding. We see it as a pleasant start in a new home," said Kristýna, describing their approach.

The Bratislava apartment was also complemented by selected Lejaan products. For the bedroom in muted tones, the architects chose the light grey Father's Playground collection and the woven Woven Monocolour throw. "In our interiors, we pride ourselves on details. Every centimetre must be used to the maximum and every joint must be perfect. We know we share a similar philosophy with Lejaan, which is why we love using your products," Kristýna told us, to our delight, at the end of our conversation.

A SUNLIT APARTMENT IN VINOHRADY
The latest project by studio arkhe is a timeless interior of an apartment in Prague's Vinohrady district. The home for a family of three was designed with reference to its history, but for the needs of today. The whole space was made to measure, without compromise and using first-class materials, so that the apartment looks good and serves its purpose now and for decades to come.

The space pays tribute to the high ceilings of Vinohrady apartments and to timeless materials.
Instead of sharp corners, studio arkhe worked with rounded shapes. "The space flows better, both visually and physically. Rounded shapes are more practical and in many cases also more aesthetically fitting," explained Ján Antal, co-founder of the Perspektiv and arkhe studios. As an example, he mentioned the wooden built-in unit created by reworking the layout, which conceals practical storage space as well as a full bathroom.

The kitchen island top was made from three rounded slabs of quartz.
In the design, the architects made sure to conceal as many distracting elements as possible. Appliances are therefore hidden in the kitchen island and built-in furniture. Even the heating is invisible, hidden behind rattan weaving, which is echoed in the design of the 1950s dining chairs by Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret. The interior is further enlivened by striking accents such as Bomma Orbital crystal lights, Soda glass tables by Miniforms and a hand-knotted Gun Rug carpet.

Lejaan bed linen and a Lejaan bedspread also play their part in the space. This time, the architects wrapped the bedroom in darker, more muted colours to underline its cosy and calm atmosphere. An elegant detail is the profiled glass, which lets light through, supports privacy and divides the room into a sleeping area and a dressing area

Studio arkhe aims to create interiors that are good to live in. And the Vinohrady apartment is one of them. "We avoid trends. We like a space full of natural materials that acquire a beautiful patina, withstand everyday use and will bring you joy for many years to come. Until you sand, stain or repaint them again," architect Ján Antal concluded.

In the bathroom, the architects worked with terrazzo, an inseparable part of Prague's tenement houses.
STUDIO PERSPEKTIV & ARKHE
Studio Perspektiv is known for its experience in office and community spaces. Its expertise, however, reaches much further. In its projects, it focuses on functionality and sustainability, aiming to find the best solutions and push the status quo of contemporary architecture. This October, it introduced its new brand arkhe - an architecture and design-build studio dedicated to residential projects for end clients. Its philosophy rests on an individual approach to each design and on listening to clients' needs.
