Just as every great meal is preceded by a list of quality ingredients, the perfect look of a bed is created by the right combination of materials, patterns and colors. At Lejaan, we like simplicity. That's why we design all our collections so that they match in color and can be combined with each other. We asked our creative director Jana Hučíková how to Mix & Match that will suit your interior.

When choosing, keep in mind that the only limit is your own imagination. No combination is bad if you like it. If you are still confused, ask yourself a few basic questions.

WHICH MATERIAL SUITS YOU?

Do you prefer TENCEL™ Lyocell, organic cotton or a solid material made of cotton and synthetic fibers? Choosing a specific fabric will narrow your options. It is possible to combine materials, but it comes with its own pitfalls.

"Each fabric has different breathability and thermoregulation, and if you have a pillowcase made of fine cotton satin and a duvet made of sturdy polyester fabric, both materials will behave differently during sleep," says Jana. "Of course, you can have a mix of fabrics with different properties and structures on your bed, but I really only recommend one material for sleeping."

Set tip: Bedding Grandma's House & Grandpa's Atelier

"The combination of earthy tones will enliven any interior and add playfulness to the space. Thanks to the muted shades, even such a strong color combination in the bedroom looks pleasant."

HOW TO CHOOSE COLORS?

The bedroom is used for relaxation and to recharge physical and mental energy, and this needs to be taken into account when choosing colors. "I always recommend calm and muted colors. Any color accessory will liven up the bed, but it should not act as a distracting element. In a bright space, dark shades of bedding will also stand out beautifully, while in a small room with a lack of light they can have a gloomy or even depressive impression," adds Jana.

Set tip: Bedding Winter Fields & Midnight Diving and knitted plaid with pillow Colour Melange

"White with blue looks fresh and youthful. I recommend this color variation for interiors where comfort with a book or Netflix is preferred over the look of a hotel bed."

When choosing bedding, we recommend avoiding aggressive colors such as deep red and bold patterns. Bedding takes up a large area in a room, thus drawing attention to itself and influencing the overall energy in the space.

On the other hand, you can't go wrong if you cover your pillows and blankets in white. "It really works everywhere and in most color combinations," says our creative director. "It looks great with soft earthy tones and cool dark colors and goes well with any interior in combination with any material. Many people are afraid of white, but for me it should be a must-have in every bedroom," he adds.

Set tip: Bedding Winter Fields & Daily Notes & Fair Play

"This is an example of using different textures. White stripes of different widths create a very subtle combination with gray, which, however, certainly does not give a boring impression when viewed in closer detail. It is a perfect example of the fact that even a white bed does not have to be 'just' white."

WHAT DIMENSIONS DO YOU NEED?

Thanks to our configurator, you don't have to buy the entire set of each bedding set. Do you want green pillowcases Mum's Kingdom, but you want a white duvet cover? Nothing stands in your way. Just purchase a specific size of cover from each collection and your unique bedding set is born.

HOW MANY PILLOWS ARE RIGHT?

At Lejaan, we care about details, which is why we sew two styles of covers – Classic with a smooth edge and Oxford with a decorative edge. Choose one or combine them in the unique pillow menu. The more pillows you choose, the more options you have Mix & Match you have.

Set tip: Bedding Grandpa's Atelier & Old Memories & Quiet Jungle and decorative plaid Monochrome Melange

"Neutral, earthy tones combined with a stripe create an elegant and sophisticated impression. You definitely won't eat pizza in a bed made like this, you'll rather read the newspaper, and even in printed form.“
