Do you want your terry to keep its softness, absorbency and its unique shade? Read our detailed tips on how to care for Lejaan products as well as possible and keep them looking like new.
Terry towels, bathrobes and bath mats
Terry is a type of loop-pile fabric usually made from cotton, with a high ability to absorb moisture, making it ideal for use in the bathroom. At Lejaan, we use this textile to make towels and bath towels, unisex bathrobes and practical bath mats.
For our towels, we also offer options in premium cotton, organic cotton and a blend of cotton and hemp, in addition to classic cotton.

Our terry products combine beautifully, as collections often share the same Pantone shade
How and when to wash terry
To preserve colour fastness and the original quality, we recommend washing terry separately from other laundry (bed linen or everyday clothing) and separating white, light and dark colours.
To destroy all bacteria, we suggest setting the temperature to 60 °C when washing terry and using gentle or eco-friendly detergents, always in an adequate dose. Try to avoid detergents, disinfectants or other household products containing bleach, brighteners, benzoyl peroxide or alpha hydroxy acids. Also leave out fabric softener. These products strip the items of their softness and absorbency.
We most often wash bath mats, which are most susceptible to the growth of harmful bacteria. The frequency of washing towels and bathrobes depends on your personal use and preferences. If, however, you have taken any bath towel to a pool where it came into contact with chlorinated water, it is best to wash it out of the chlorine as soon as possible.

We recommend washing terry in a gentle detergent at 60 °C
Terry and drying
When drying terry, be careful about moisture. Try to ventilate the room and do not leave a damp item crumpled up, as this prevents unwanted mustiness and the growth of bacteria. If you go the tumble-drying route, choose a gentle programme and a low or medium temperature. Only then will our towels and bathrobes remain maximally soft and absorbent. Ironing is not necessary.
Does it seem to you that air-dried terry is not as soft? Give it a quick tumble dry on a short programme without warm air. A guaranteed trick that works brilliantly.

Storing terry and a few practical tips
Store terry folded or hung in a place without extreme moisture. Only ever hang terry by the loop to avoid tearing the fabric over time.
Have you washed a product in the wrong cleaning product, causing the terry to feel strangely stiff? Don't worry. Just rinse it in warm water and the stiffness should be gone.
If you come across any loose loops or threads, feel free to trim them. It won't harm the product in any way.

The most practical choice is neutral terry, for example from the Delicate Cotton collection
