Discover the magic of our premium goose down fillings . In this article you will find out where the down comes from, what certifications the fillings meet, what makes the duvets and pillows exceptional and how to care for them as well as possible.

The origin and processing of our down

For our feather duvets and pillows we chose high-quality goose down. The geese from which we source the down in accordance with animal welfare standards come exclusively from European farms, most often certified farms in Poland.

We did not choose geese by accident. Compared to other species, goose down has excellent thermoregulating properties, keeping warmth in well while helping to wick moisture away from the body. It is also naturally resilient and lightweight, which reduces the perceived weight of the fillings and contributes to more comfortable sleep.

Once the geese are plucked, the down is rinsed and sent to the factory. It travels wet and chilled. It must not dry out in transit, otherwise the natural odour would not be removed. At the factory the down is cleaned again, up to twenty times, to remove all impurities.

We wash our down in local water from the Vltava river, which is returned to circulation through a wastewater treatment plant, so none is wasted. It then goes into a dryer and on to a sorting machine. There the required ratios of filling down and feather are created, and the material is filled into 100% cotton ticking.

We care about the quality of our down, from its origin to strict processing standards.

Goose down as you have never seen it

Down fillings can be surrounded by many misconceptions. People associate them with heavy old duvets in country cottages where the down slid to the sides and quills poked through the ticking. Thanks to modernised manufacturing methods and the clever details of our fillings, however, these characteristics are now nothing more than a nostalgic memory.

The Down Comfort duvet and pillow collection stands out for its lightness, densely woven ticking, easy care and the even distribution of high-quality, fine down. In the duvets it is held in place by functional stitching, and in the pillows by an innovative chamber system. Our fillings are designed to harness the unrivalled advantages of down and give you the highest level of comfort during sleep.

Certifications and suitability for allergy sufferers

Our fillings meet the following certifications:

Responsible Down Standard

No animal was subjected to pain, suffering or stress during the process of obtaining the down. This standard also monitors and applies a system for tracking and identifying the origin of the material.

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100

No chemical or harmful substances, materials or dyes were used in the production of the pillows or duvets .

NOMITE

The fillings are also suitable for people who suffer from allergies to house dust or mites, and meet high standards of cleanliness, density and fabric strength. The duvets and pillows are therefore not suitable only for households where someone is allergic to feathers.

Downafresh

The down is tested in a hygienic laboratory, treated with nature-friendly products and meets the most stringent hygiene requirements set by the European standard.

We fill our duvets and pillows with the finest quality goose down.

Down Comfort All Season duvets

For our fluffy goose down duvets we chose the optimal blend of 90% filling down and 10% feather. The light down clusters from the lower chest area protect against cold and have the highest insulating power. Unlike the firmer feathers, down consists of thousands of fine fibres that are naturally softer and give the filling its lightness. The addition of feathers, on the other hand, is needed to maintain shape and volume. The fabric baffles with which the duvets are quilted also help with this. The pockets keep the down in place and ensure it has enough room to loft.

The Down Comfort All Season fillings are the best choice for comfortable sleep all year round. Not only do they wick moisture away excellently, but their superior thermal regulation keeps you warm in winter and protects you from the heat in summer. You can choose from classic and extra-long options for single or double beds.

Down Comfort All Season duvets have a long lifespan and excellent thermoregulating properties.

Down Comfort Medium pillows

For Down Comfort Medium pillows we opted for a medium profile and two types of internal construction. In the smaller sizes, specifically 40 × 40 cm and 40 × 60 cm, you will find a single-chamber system containing 60% light down and 40% firm feathers.

For the remaining sizes we chose a three-chamber system. The two outer chambers contain 90% down clusters and 10% feathers, while the inner chamber is filled with a 15:85 blend of down and feathers. This inner chamber acts as a firm base maintaining support and shape, while the outer chambers provide maximum fluffiness and enhanced sleep comfort. Thanks to this innovative chamber construction, our feather pillows stay voluminous and pleasantly soft in the long term.

Down Comfort Medium pillows provide perfect head and neck support thanks to their chamber system.

How to care for your down properly

The Down Comfort duvets and pillows are washable. For a long lifespan, we recommend washing them at 60 °C on a low spin cycle with a gentle detergent, ideally once a year. If in doubt, do not hesitate to take them to a professional dry cleaner.

The fillings can also be tumble dried; we suggest choosing a lower temperature setting. The duvets and the smaller pillow sizes can also be air dried, out of direct sunlight. Larger pillows take longer to dry naturally, so we do not recommend air drying them.

After a night spent together, it pays to shake the fillings and leave them spread out to let excess moisture evaporate. You can also air them out from time to time, but not in direct sunlight. And to keep them fluffy in the long term, we recommend not vacuum-packing down fillings or folding the pillows .
